A reporter finds it impossible to get a job in New York
during its crime and drug-ridden nadir in the 1970’s.
Then she happens upon information that implicates an old
lover of hers, now the city’s most celebrated anti-drug
guru, in the murder of his wife. She gets a newspaper
job with her shocking story and comes close to proving
his guilt. When the guru hears of her investigation, he
becomes infuriated, and does everything in his power to
